Moving companies and long hauls

More and more moving companies are coming to the realization that the long hauls have to be considered in a different category from the usual short or medium journeys. It’s not just because of the long distances involved that moving companies should aware of but of the human factor and economic consequences. Moving companies who deal mainly in short runs know that their drivers are fresh and can manage about three hauls in one day. This is a far different calculation to the moving companies profit basis than the management of one very long haul which can sometimes take up to two days, when the driver has to sleep over. As the costs are not always calculated by mileage only, the profit ensuing from long hauls is often much lower than short hauls. Often we can find that moving companies tend to extricate themselves from having to take such jobs and use every excuse to politely get out of such a haul. price of long hauls rises unjustly, simply because more and more moving companies are rejecting these trips. The solution might be that the law will have to be applied in enforcing the moving companies in accepting every type of haul without exception.
