Moving services and uniforms

Moving services in New York are calling upon the Legislature of the State of New York to increase the penalty for those who impersonate police officers and for those who illegally sell police uniforms. Now you might be wondering what this has to do with moving services. Well the same thing happened twice last month when several crooks dressed up as employees of moving services after obtaining information about a family waiting to relocate. They ambushed the moving services truck and team and impersonated them at the home. After loading up the wares and assets they set off to an unknown location. As it happens the house they selected was a very affluent home and the plunder amounted to millions, especially in rare paintings. Thus the warning was printed out and sent around to all the offices of the moving services. However, being aware of such events doesn't necessarily empower you to fight this evil. However, the moving services organization involved in both cases had something
important in common. Both moving services employed workers dressed in the companies' uniforms. It seems that the employees dressed in such uniforms appear more convincing than employees without uniforms. Hence moving services are now suggesting that all moving services employees no longer wear uniform.
