Use the following tips wisely and save a lot of money and trouble:

• Be aware to the fact that for moving companies there are "peak" and "off peak" seasons. During peak time prices are likely to go up and movers are more likely to be stressed and rushy. The "peak" season for movers is usually the summer season.

• You just like every other paren, would like to move during the summer school vacation.
• Shopping around movers before choosing your moving company for your moving services is important and should be done at least two months before the time you want to move.
• Before getting the appraisal, make a decision regarding items you are not going to move, e.g. old furnitures you want to discard etc. - this will lower the price.

• The mover survey sheet is the bible whatever is not in there will cost you more. This survey is an important mean for effective communication with your moving services provider and it is a key factor for a pleasant move.

• Moving companies providing professional moving services are usually not liable for damage to boxes packed by the customer - consider this when you decide to pack by yourself. However - always make sure that the moving services provider has proper insurance covering any damage that might happen to your stuff.

• Make sure that the price is final and can not be "updated" by any way. Sometimes movers decide to bring anothe second truck since they claim that your stuff can not fit into one truck - this might cost you additional fees if not written properly in the survey sheet.
